Tailoring Individual Feedback

Feedback is one of the most critical, and yet one of the least understood skills in a business professional’s tool box.  If motivational (positive) and developmental (constructive) feedback is not delivered or received appropriately, it could have the opposite end result as was intended.  This program focuses on how to tailor feedback to the receiver’s personal style for maximum effect.  It is a natural add-on for the Peer/Team Feedback Training Program (TP/02), or any 360 feedback program.

Duration:

90 minutes

Intended for:

All business professionals.  Everyone needs to be effective in giving and receiving feedback in the workplace.  One person’s style of delivering/receiving feedback could easily clash with another’s style and actually cause problems.  These clashes often happen even when the intent behind the feedback is positive.

Objectives:

Upon successful completion of this module, participants will be able to:

  • evaluate their own style of giving and receiving feedback

  • practice tailoring feedback to individual styles

  • evaluate specific language patterns that are appropriate in delivering both motivational (positive) and developmental (constructive) feedback

Topics:

  • Individual feedback styles

  • Feedback language patterns

  • Delivering and receiving feedback
